This was overall a nice, brief history of Louis XIV, with short sections making it easy to read as much as you want, and stop whenever you wanted. Would have liked more on Louis himself, and less on the characters around him, but those sidebars were still interesting.
A very to the point book on The Sun King.
This is a short and concise account of the reign of Louis XIV.
I liked the author. He did a good job with his details. Without boring me.
This book says it was published in 2015, but it reads like an historical account by a Puritan 300 years ago. There's no intro explaining what it is.
This was a gift for my husband who is a history buff, and enjoys biographies. He really learned a lot about the "Sun King," and enjoyed the writing style.
seemed historically very accurate and authentic. didn't know much about him as a person (not good). For someone known as a the 'Sun King', he brought a lot of darkness into so many people's lives.
